LTL Freight Match

Independent shipment intake

A bad LTL quote is almost always a bad description

Every LTL quote is conditional on what you declared. The terminal weighs it, dimensions it and looks at it — and if the description stopped being true somewhere between your loading bay and the scale, the invoice follows the measurement.

No account, no rates published, no automated outreach. LTL Freight Match is an independent freight intake platform. It is not a carrier, not a broker, and it does not move freight, issue rates or guarantee capacity.

Same weight, three prices

On a density-based commodity, the class follows how much space the freight occupies for its weight. Pack the same goods three ways and you get three densities, three classes and three rates — without a single thing changing about the goods themselves.

That is the mechanism people find counter-intuitive, and it is why a half-full pallet is so often worse value than a full one.

Density, in plain arithmetic

What happens after you submit

Everything past the dashed line happens between you and a provider. We do not quote, we do not book, and we do not take a cut of what you are charged.

Step 1

You describe the shipment

Lane, freight, access and timing. Four short steps.

Step 2

The request is structured

Turned into the format providers actually price from.

Step 3

It reaches providers

Independent companies equipped for that lane and that freight.

Step 4

They contact you

They quote. We do not, and nothing is booked on your behalf.

Three questions that always come up

Does LTL Freight Match move freight?

No. LTL Freight Match is an independent freight intake platform. It is not a carrier, not a broker, and it does not move freight, issue rates or guarantee capacity. Shipments may be shared with independent providers equipped for the lane and freight described.

What does an LTL shipment cost?

No figure is shown here, because we have no rate source and an average across lanes and classes would be meaningless. What a price is built from is set out on the cost page.

I do not know my freight class. Is that a problem?

No, and it is the normal situation. With accurate dimensions, an accurate weight and a plain description, a provider can determine it far more reliably than a guess — see class and dimensions.

Describe the shipment in four steps

You do not need a freight class or exact dimensions to start. Approximations, clearly labelled as approximations, are useful information in themselves.
